The 4th annual North East Cultural Fest was held with great gusto in the college premises on 17th March 2016, jointly organised with Shaheed Bhagat Singh Morning College. The students hailing from the various states of the North East portrayed an array of cultural performances depicting the amazing diversity of their respective cultures. Students from other colleges also registered their participation in the fest. Dr. Ranbir Singh, IAS, Resident Commissioner of Mizoram House, Delhi presided over the function as the chief guest of the day. He expressed his happiness to see the celebration of the cultures of North East and encouraged students of the region to act as cultural ambassadors to the other parts of the region. Various North-Eastern dance forms were showcased from the platform- Bihu, Manipuri, Kuki, and Bamboo. Traditional songs were also sung in tune by the students, enthralling the audience. The cultural Dress show was another highlight of the event where students of the NE Council showcased various traditional dresses of different NE states. It was followed by the mandatory Band Performance which was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Dr. S. K. Jain represented the evening college as the Nodal Officer. The fest was well attended by faculty and students across departments from both colleges.
