INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR
The College very proudly announces hosting an international conference "MESD 2012" (Multinational Enterprises and Sustainable Development: Managing MNE Dynamics and Sustainable Development; Best Strategies, Practices and Models) on December 12-14, 2012, in New Delhi. The Conference is jointly organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, the ICN Business School ( France ), the CEREFIGE of the Universite de Lorraine (France), and the Georgia Tech Center for International Business Education and Research, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. The College organises Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Lecture on the Martyrdom Day of Sardar Singh on 23rd March every year. In this Lecture Series, freedom fighters and prominent Speakers are invited to enlighten the students and the faculty about the life and contribution of Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh to the Indian freedom struggle.
The College organises an Orientation Programme at the start of every new Academic Session to Welcome, initiate and familiarise newly admitted students into a different learning system of higher education. Students are acquainted with the College resources, sports, extra-curricular activities and rules and regulations of the College. While introducing the College Faculty and the different Departments, the students are also given a copy of their syllabus and time-table of their respective Classes. Students are encouraged to clarify any doubts in this open forum.
The College organizes Lectures by eminent speakers to focus on contemporary issues of diverse interest to intellectually stimulate and educate the students. This Lecture Series is a window to the ever changing and growing world of knowledge for the budding students.
The Students Union and the Fine Arts and Cultural Society of the College organise an Inter-College Cultural Festival every year. Annual Fest is an opportunity for the students to put to good use their vocal, theatrical and their other skills. In 2011-2012, the Annual Fest 'SAPTRANG' drew many paiticipants from different colleges of Delhi University under the guidance of Dr. 0.S.Deol Convener of the function. Through this event, students are encouraged to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of india
The Geography Association of the College organises an annual festival called 'Srishti'. The festival focuses on Lectures by eminent Geographers, Inter-College painting and essay-writing comperitions and other co-curricular activities.
The Debating Society of the College has been very active during the previous year to identify and nurture the debating talent amongest the students. Under the guidance of Mr. Prem Kumar, Staff Advisor, Debating Society and Assistant Professor, Deptt. of Economics, the Society organized various Intra-College Debates, Repertoire and Extempore Competitions. The Society also organizes the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Inter College Debate Competition every year.
To commemorate the memory and supreme sacrifice of Shaheed-E-Azam, Sardar Bhagat Singh The great son of India, the College has been organizing an inter-college football tournament since 1196-97 Leading college teams of Delhi University, Jamia Milla Islamia University, III Delhi etc. Participate in this tournament. The tournament develops a sense of brotherhood, friendship and healthy competitive spirit amongst the participating teams.
The College has a fully functional Career Guidance & Counseling Cell. UGC has approved a programme for Career Guidance and Counseling for student’s benefit. Students are advised to contact Dr.S.A.Siddiqui, Staff Advisor, Placement Cell for guidance.
The College organises Graduation Day every year to bid farewell to the final year students of the College in which the Faculty and students share their experiences with each other. The Principal and the Faculty bless the students wishing them success in the upcoming examination and a bright career ahead. The function concludes with music and dance.
