National Service Scheme (NSS)
Introduction
The National Service Scheme was launched on 24th September 1969 and this day is celebrated as NSS Day.
This programme was launched in “37 universities” and today it's launched in more than 700 universities/colleges
in which SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH EVENING COLLEGE is one of the colleges with the motto 'Not me but you',
which means selfless service, placing the welfare of others above our own.
Motive
The motive of NSS is to develop the personality of students through community service and to foster a sense
of social responsibility and national consciousness among the youth of India.
NSS Shapath
Events
The NSS unit actively participates in various national and institutional events that promote service, discipline, and patriotism.
- SEVA PARV: NSS MELA (BIANNUAL EVENT): Celebrates volunteerism through exhibitions, awareness stalls, cultural performances, and outreach activities.
- Sanyukt Samagam (Annual Event): Encourages creativity, teamwork, and awareness among volunteers.
- Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort: Volunteers witness the national ceremony and express pride.
- Republic Day Celebration near India Gate: Volunteers assist in the Republic Day ceremonial arrangements.
- National Youth Festival: Volunteers participate in cultural and leadership-based week-long activities.

- Nasha Mukti Abhiyan – Anti-addiction awareness drives.
- Swachhta Hi Seva – Cleanliness drives inside & outside campus.
- Cloth Collection & Donation – Distributed through NGOs.
- Old Age Home Visit – Interaction & cultural activities with senior citizens.
- Voting Awareness Campaign – Encouraging responsible citizenship.
- Tiranga Rally & Independence Day Celebration – Promoting unity and pride.

- EK PED MAA KE NAAM: Tree plantation dedicated to motherhood and nature.
- SWAPRABHA ABHIYAN: Support for street vendors and sustainable entrepreneurship.
- PROJECT JEEVANSHRUTI: Regular visits to old age homes offering emotional support.
