Samagam – The Alumni Association
Introduction
Samagam - The Alumni Association of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, founded in 2025, serves as a dedicated platform to strengthen the bond between the college and its former students. It strives to promote lifelong engagement among alumni through academic collaborations, mentorship initiatives, and networking opportunities. The association’s primary goal is to foster a sense of community, uphold the values of the institution, and support current students through guidance, skill development, and outreach programs that reflect the enduring spirit of the college.
The Alumni Association operates through a well-structured body including a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Coordinators. The Convener, along with faculty coordinators and student members, oversees functioning, events, and outreach activities that deepen alumni engagement and institutional growth.
Structure and Functioning
The society is guided by a faculty convener (currently from the Department of Commerce), with support from student representatives. It manages communication with alumni, organizes events, and maintains data records. The structure encourages participatory leadership and fosters inter-batch connections among graduates.
Events and Initiatives
Special Alumni Visits organized by Samagam facilitate personalized one-on-one interactions between current students and executive members of the alumni association. During these visits, alumni share valuable insights and practical guidance about academic challenges and industry preparedness, helping students bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.
Samagam also hosts webinars and panel discussions focusing on entrepreneurship, economic trends, and industry developments. These events bring together experts, alumni, and faculty to exchange ideas, inspire innovation, and promote collaboration.
A special tradition of the association is its annual alumni dinner, where former students reconnect with each other and the college faculty — fostering community, nostalgia, and continued engagement.
